LEAD OR RESIDENT
SPECIAL INSPECTOR/DEPUTY INSPECTOR
• Experienced full-time inspector who will
facilitate, organize, and manage all necessary inspection and testing
requirements throughout the duration of the project
• Typically
multi-licensed to inspect multiple trades
• May
act as liaison between jurisdictional building inspectors, design professionals, and construction
staff
• Duties
will vary from project to project
PROJECT INSPECTOR / INSPECTOR OF RECORD (IOR)
These inspectors are typically multi-licensed Building Inspectors capable of inspecting all aspects of the construction process from the ground up. This includes, but not limited to, structural foundation & super-structure, framing, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, roofing & waterproofing, EIFS, and paint. Oftentimes, these inspectors are needed to augment the staff of local building departments or public works departments within a city or county. These Project Inspectors untertake a high level of responsibility for the duration of the assignment. Responsibilities vary. ASI staffs inspectors for the building and planning departments, public works departments, water and power districts, etc.
Inspector of Record (IOR) is a classification typically associated with DSA and OSHPD which refers to an inspector approved and assigned by their respective organizations to oversee construction pertaining to a school or hospital. These inspectors are very specialized and hightly qualified for the specific requirements associated with these types of buildings. ASI offers all classes and levels of IOR.
ALL CLASSIFICATIONS OF INSPECTIONS LISTED ABOVE PERFORM THE FOLLOWING TASKS SPECIFIC TO EACH DISCIPLINE (AS A MINIMUM)
EACH INSPECTOR...
• Verifies conformance to approved plans,
specifications, and local building codes
• Documents
and notifies personnel of any non-conforming items
• Verifies
proper materials and placement of those materials per approved plans,
specifications, and local building codes
• When
applicable, collects required test specimens for laboratory analysis
or testing
• Documents
all inspections and tests on Daily Reports
